Entrepreneurship is at the heart of the University of Twente. The university prides itself in being the most entrepreneurial university in the Netherlands, evidenced by winning the related award more often than all other Dutch universities combined. The UT is also the only Dutch member of the four Dutch Technical Universities with a large social sciences faculty, offering education in business but also, e.g., public administration, communication studies and psychology.
Despite being a relatively small university, the University of Twente is consistently ranked in the top 125 for ‘business and economics’ in the Times Higher Education World University subject ranking. Our high scores on research quality, industry engagement and international outlook especially contribute to this result. Furthermore, both our bachelor’s and master’s in (International) Business Administration received a distinctive feature for entrepreneurship, demonstrating our commitment to entrepreneurship in education.
Via the NovelT incubator, the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences combine their efforts in startup support leading to more than 2.000 spinoffs. Likewise, we strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem by offering various forms of executive education to help SMEs and large firms alike in building capabilities for new business development.
